Thanks for being so amazing with communication. I definitely don’t get that from the other places our kids are doing online.
Counselor
I have to say, you folks at Bluesky are really amazing and I’ve told more than a few people that too! Also how you worked with us even though we’re on trimesters and you are on semesters. And the personal communication…so incredibly awesome! Thanks for all you do!

Thank you for your consistent encouragement and support. We could not have continued the way things were going, and I never would have pursued this solution on my own. You both made an amazing difference in [student]’s sophomore year. Thank you for being AMAZING …

Supplemental Program FAQ
How does a student get started?
1. The student or parent must have a conversation with the school counselor first about which course(s) to take online.
a. Find our Middle School course offerings and their course syllabi here.
b. Find our High School course offerings and their course syllabi here.
2. The parent or guardian submits an application via the Enrollment link on this page.
3. Once the application is complete (it’s a 2-part process), we will schedule an enrollment call with the student and/or parent to confirm course(s) and to help us get to know the student, as well as answer any questions about BlueSky.
4. We will then send the appropriate registration paperwork to the family and the school counselor.
5. Once the registration paperwork is signed by all parties, the student will receive their BlueSky email login information as well as instructions on how to access a 30 minute online orientation course.
What does a typical week look like for a supplemental student?
Students are given a personalized Academic Snapshot that lists their course(s), their grade, quality of work, progress in the course, and the number of assignments they should complete that week. They are not required to log in at a specific time each day, but they must complete the amount of assignments in their snapshot by the end of each week. It is the student’s responsibility to create a routine for when/where they work in their online course(s).
What if my high school uses another online school?
Your high school may have a specific online school to which they refer students. Students and parents/guardians, however, have the freedom to select the supplemental education courses that fit best.
Does it cost anything to take a class at BlueSky?
As long as the student is living in Minnesota and attending a public middle or high school, and the courses being taken do not put the student over a full course load, then the online course(s) are free to the family. For students who are out of state, homeschooled or attending a private school, look at our Tuition Page to find our current rate.
What are the tech requirements?
Recommended: a Windows or a Mac (using Google Chrome as web browser) computer or laptop.
- Chromebooks, iPads, and mobile devices may work but have limitations in terms of content formatting and login challenges.
- Be prepared to seek login support if using a school-issued Chromebook.
- Consistent Internet Connection – 5 MBPS download recommended. To test your device, click here.
- Webcam and microphone are needed for audio/video projects.
- Enrolled students will receive a Google account with access to all Google apps
